Students applying must certify that they have a high school diploma or GED. Students with prior academic experience must submit current official transcripts. Students entering the undergraduate program must (a) provide proof of having earned a high school diploma or GED equivalent and (b) transcripts from any accredited college or university in the First District, an institution approved by the Association for Higher Biblical Education, or a nationally recognized institution. There is an option to earn credit through an assessment of prior experience. IWU is homeschool friendly and will work with parents and students to determine requirements for success in high school.

Yes, all submissions must be official publications, either printed or digital. Typical transcript printing is sent cover to cover. Digital transcribing uses new technology to prove authenticity. Official transcripts can be sent directly from the School of Education at IWU to [email protected]

Admission will be based on the first submission of appropriate documents by the student. Once all documents are received, the student’s file will be reviewed for admission, academic credentials will be reviewed before being included in the transcript and the student will be accepted into the university. This process usually takes place within seven (7) days after submission of all documents to the university. Weekends and holidays may extend this schedule.

IWU offers the Bridge Initiative through four schedules. This allows us to start training approximately every six weeks.

The Bridge Initiative allows students to access all undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs offered online through IWU, with the exception of nursing and health degrees.

Financial Aid + Are students enrolled through church affiliation eligible for the scholarships listed on the indwes.edu website?

Students enrolled through the Bridge Initiative are not eligible for the institutional scholarships listed on the website. Programming already includes significant insults.

Students have access to federal aid programs, including but not limited to the Pell Grant (if eligible), student loans, and parent loan programs. Students must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to determine eligibility.

Students must complete the FAFSA each year, usually during tax season, by visiting the Federal Department of Education website.

Future Iwu Students Receive Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship

Upon receipt of the FAFSA, with no outstanding eligibility issues, and acceptance of the application, the university will issue the student a federal eligibility plan. This plan will be available within one week of receipt of the FAFSA. The student’s aid estimate will be based on the cost of attendance, which includes the average total of tuition, fees, books, living and transportation expenses, and the amount of loans. The plan also estimates the student’s projected enrollment status. The university’s programs are structured so that students begin their first semester at the regular or part-time level, and the sequence of courses from that point on will represent full-time enrollment.

After disbursement and subsequent enrollment, aid assessment will be completed by reviewing the designated enrollee name, changes to the student’s FAFSA information (if any), and any additional aid information that would not have been available at the time of planning. Federal student aid is typically awarded by the 10th or 11th day of the deadline unless further delays are prohibited.

Funds due in this case will be sent to the student within 14 days of the payment date, unless the student has authorized Student Account Services to hold the funds for future payment purposes in the academic year.

Financial aid is the process by which students submit the required documents in the financial aid process and can unlock federal and state financial aid.
