You are a freshman if you have not attended a college or university since graduating from high school. Students who are enrolled in high school and college at the same time, and junior/junior high school students who do not attend college after graduation, are first-year students.

Deadline – Applications received by December 1st will be processed on a priority basis. Applications are still accepted after December 1st, but scholarship availability may be limited.

Application Processing Fee – An application processing fee of $40 or fee waiver is required when the application is submitted.

Test Optional Policy – Most students are not required to have standardized test scores for admission or scholarships. However, you may submit your test scores to receive higher scholarships if you wish.

Transcripts – If your GPA is at least 2.8, we will accept your application using the GPA you provide with your application. If your GPA is below 2.8, a transcript is required. You may send an informal text with your application.

Undergraduate Scholarships For International Students In Usa 2024

Financial aid counselors are available to help you answer your financial aid questions in a variety of ways. Appointments are available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. by phone, in person (Warriner 202), or virtually (MS team).

When you contact our office, please have your student ID ready so we can better assist you. You can find your student ID in CentralLink under “My Profile”.

The FAFSA must be completed online. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2024-25 school year has undergone significant changes as a result of the FAFSA simplification. The form is simpler and easier to complete than ever. You can maximize your eligibility by filing the FAFSA each year. Future FAFSAs open on October 1. For priority access to available institutional funds, submit your FAFSA by June 1.

CMU must receive your FAFSA application at least two weeks before the end of the semester in which you are enrolled.

All new students who are eligible for support will begin receiving financial support offers in the mail by the end of April 2024. Central Michigan University is committed to using the principles and standards of the College Cost Transparency Initiative in its presentations to students. In accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, our office must obtain your permission to discuss your financial aid with someone using the FERPA waiver form. Complete the FERPA waiver form located in your financial aid portal from the drop-down menu in the documents area. You may contact our office at any time to change your publication.
