Asu Transfer Student Scholarships

Eligible students can save $500 and receive a $4,000 scholarship (8-on-1 match), for a total of $4,500. Funds can be used toward ASU tuition and mandatory fees. Arizona community college students are eligible to apply for this program.

In order for the required $500 in savings and matching funds to be transferred to your student account, you must complete the following steps.

NOTE: Students receiving tuition waivers or consortium agreements are not eligible to receive Earn to Learn.

International Student Crisis Fund

The $500 IDA savings will be split between the fall and spring semesters. $250 of the IDA savings will be deposited as IDA Earn to Learn for the fall semester and $250 for the spring semester. View all deposits in My ASU > Finance tab > Account Expenses field > Payments

The $4,000 Earn to Learn Scholarship consists of $2,000 from the federal government and $2,000 from ASU, split between the fall and spring semesters. The scholarship will be listed as $1,000 ASU Earn to Learn and $1,000 ASU Earn to Learn (Private) in my ASU Awards Summary for the fall and again for the spring semester, for a total of $4,000 for the entire academic year. To be eligible for a transfer scholarship, applicants must be accepted to the university. Scholarship applications from students who are not accepted will not be considered. It is the student’s responsibility to confirm their acceptance status. When community college transfer students begin taking courses in a larger, more complex campus environment, they face a number of challenges. Navigating a new university, succeeding in larger classes, and securing undergraduate research opportunities can be daunting.

But Arizona State University is launching a new scholarship program specifically designed to help transfer students pursue undergraduate studies that will improve their chances of getting into medical and graduate school.

“We found that transfer students were not participating in as much undergraduate research as students who began their academic experience at ASU,” said Sarah Brownell, assistant professor in ASU’s College of Life Sciences and principal investigator for the new grant. “This is a problem because undergraduate research can provide students with a unique opportunity to learn how to conduct research. We also know that participating in research as an undergraduate helps students secure their future beyond their degree.”

The National Science Foundation is providing $1 million to establish a new scholarship program at ASU, called the LEAP Scholars Program, which will provide $600,000 in scholarships over the next five years to graduate students in the sciences.
